A SCRIBE’S JOURNEY

Born in New York City, Terrence Watson grew up in Manhattan’s Lower East Side neighborhood. If New York City is a melting pot of cultures, the Lower East Side is the bottom of the stew that you eat the next day where most of the flavor settles. As streetwear brands like Supreme, magazines like XXL and SLAM; music genres like hip-hop, R&B, punk and pop were all colliding in Lower Manhattan, Terrence was finding his voice as a writer.

Surrounded by the art, fashion, music, sports and subcultures that would largely define a generation, Terrence came into his own by making sense of his environment. It just so happens that his environment which shaped him, is also one of the world’s most influential creative hubs.

As a media member with bylines at Complex, VIBE Magazine, SLAM Magazine, Kicks on Fire, BET and Revolt TV to name a few, Terrence has produced digital and physical content with musicians such as Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz, Young Jeezy, Jhené Aiko, Pusha T, Fabolous, Ice Cube, Ellie Goulding, T.I. Bun B, DMC of Run DMC, ASAP Ferg and more.

Terrence has also created content showcasing sports figures such as Zack LaVine, Paul George, ESPN’s Jay Bilas, John Wall, Devin Booker, D’Angelo Russell, Nick Young, Tobias Harris, Chris Paul, Jalen Rose, Jeff Van Gundy, Jay Williams, Chris Bosh, James Harden, Kemba Walker, Mariano Rivera, Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson and more.

As copywriter, both in-house and as a contractor, Terrence has executed and created copy for digital executions, dot com, social content and campaign concepts for agencies and brands such as Game Seven Marketing, R/GA, AKQA, Doubleday & Cartwright, Analog Folk, Swift, Instrument, Above the Rim, adidas women’s, adidas basketball, Jordan Brand, Nike SB, Nike Basketball, Nike Court, Nike Golf, NikeLab and more.

Terrence continues to actively find new creative ways to tell stories, identify and establish tone of voice for brands, and draw engaging connections which are organic for consumers.
